Roosevelt School’s and the District’s definitions of excused and unexcused absences are as follows:
Excused Absences: Personal illness; an appearance in court when required by law; a disciplinary action; observance of a religious holiday; a family emergency; and a planned family activity which has been pre-approved by the principal. In all cases, the school principal determines whether an absence is excused or unexcused.
Unexcused Absences: All other absences are considered unexcused, including student or parent oversleeping, student missing the bus, transportation problems, student needed for baby-sitting, student job requirements, etc.
