Roosevelt Site Council

The Roosevelt Site Council is a representative committee of staff and community members. The monthly meetings are lively, informative, and more importantly, productive. The Site Council's focus is to identify school needs and to coordinate efforts to help meet them.

Roosevelt School Site Council has been active since 1996 and has been directly responsible for many Roosevelt innovations, including:

  • Funding of our Success For All Reading Program
  • New playground out back
  • Scholarships or emergency funds for families in need (unexpected hardships)
  • Roosevelt Time Garden out front of the school
  • Outdoor trash cans
  • Food to Waste program
  • Roosevelt Centennial Celebration
  • EPICC – after school enrichment
  • Classroom tables
  • Math enrichment tubs for each pod
  • Communication Board out front
  • Preschool playground
  • Volunteer tutors
  • PATS testing bus
  • Emergency and Disaster plans
  • Air quality within the school
  • New school parking lot
  • Partnership with NE Neighborhood Association, (NENA)
  • Yearly coat exchange
  • Walk and Roll to school day

 

Meetings are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 5:15pm to 6:30pm. (Please check school calendar or newsletter for actual dates and times) Meetings are open to the public. Please contact the office or the principal,  Domenico Spatola-Knoll for further details.
