Accelerated Reader Awards
I=Independent Reader-student has read 3 books independently & has at least 10 points
S=Super Reader-student has read 6 books and has at least 15 points
A=Advanced - student has read 9 books has at least 25 points.
Awesome Award- student has read 11 books & has at least 35 points.
S= Star Reader- student has read 13 books & has at least 50 points
P=Phenomenal Reader- student has read 15 books & has at least 70 points
W-World's Greatest student has read 17 books & has at least 90 points
H- Hundred Point Club
C=Classic Reader-Student has read 3 books worth 10 points or more at level 6 or above. SHOULD HAVE READ AT LEAST 20 BOOKS IN ALL
H-Honor Reader- Classic reader award and 200 points
When a student reaches 100 points they are in the 100point club.
Grades Three, Four, and Five: If a student has previously earned the Independent Award, he/she begins with the Super Award.
Notes:
1. Monthly each teacher should monitor their students' reading records to make sure they are passing most of the tests they take. Students should be taking test at the appropriate level for their reading ability.
2. Monthly grade level goals:
1st grade- 0.5/ week
2nd grade- 1.0/week
3rd grade- 1.3/week
4th grade- 1.5/week
5th grade- 1.7/week
